"El rarámuri comparte lo que tiene, y cuando no tiene, baja a las ciudades a pedir korima —ayuda o apoyo—, y eso tiene que ver con una visión de "yo ayudo, tú ayúdame", no es una visión de pedir limosna, sino de pedir que se comparta con él, porque está pasando un momento difícil".

Kórima, the artistic performance

The Mexican community at Montreal organize the artistic performance “KÓRIMA: the joy of sharing” to raise funds and palliate the famine suffered by Raramuri –also called Tarahumara- native community of Chihuahua, in the northwest of Mexico.
Recently, a member of the Organization of Native Agricultural Workers from Chihuahua, Ramón Gardea, has communicated to Medias the fact that almost 50 native people of this ethnical group have committed suicide caused mainly by famine and icy weather of the Tarahumara mountain range.  And even though the Mexican authorities have not confirmed these suicides, they cannot deny the lack of services and the misery in which this ethnic group has been living since more than 5 centuries.
Because of this situation, we have decided to perform for them and send them at least an economic and moral support.
